Spring reset: anyone starting fresh with nutrition this April?

Winter was BRUTAL for me nutrition-wise. Between the holidays, two bad flus, and just generally hibernating, I'm coming out of it about 12 lbs heavier than I started November. I'm not beating myself up — life happened — but I'm ready to reset.

Anyone else using April as a fresh start? What are you changing? I figured it might be motivating to share goals and cheer each other on instead of doing this alone again.

My goals:

  • Walk 30 min most days (outside, now that it's warm!)
  • Back to home cooking 5 nights a week
  • Cut back on evening wine to 1-2x a week
  • Actually drink water (not just coffee)

Literally starting today too! January resolutions died around week 3 (as they do) and I've been feeling stuck since. Something about spring feels different though. My goals: meal prep Sundays, 10k steps/day, and no eating after 8pm. Let's go 💪

47 year old here joining the spring reset crew. My one rule this time: no extreme changes. Last time I tried a "reset" I cut calories too hard, burnt out in 3 weeks, and binge ate back everything I lost + more. This time it's just "add more vegetables, move more, drink less." That's it. Boring but sustainable.

@midlifeFitness this is so wise. The boring sustainable stuff always wins. Rooting for you!

Count me in! My goals: 120g protein/day (i literally never get enough), strength training 3x a week, and cooking one new healthy recipe every week to keep it interesting. Small and specific > big and vague this time.

Spring = outdoor running season for me and it fixes everything lol. When I run consistently the food stuff falls into place naturally. My goal is just "run 4x a week" and let the rest take care of itself.

omg yes. winter wrecked me. my goal is just to stop drinking soda. that's it. one thing. if i can do that for 30 days i'll add something else. baby steps are all i can handle rn tbh

My spring reset is mostly about getting more VARIETY back in my diet. I fell into eating the same 5 meals on repeat during winter which got boring AND nutritionally limited. Goal: try one new vegetable or whole grain each week for the next 3 months.

My fresh start goals:

  1. Sunday meal prep non-negotiable
  2. Move protein to center of every meal
  3. Stop "practice meals" on the weekend (aka weekend binges)
  4. Grocery shop with a list — no more random purchases

Gonna report back end of April 🌱

I was doing great in January then fell off in March. Using April to get back on it. Not starting over, just picking up where I left off. No shame in restarts — the only "failure" is not starting again.

Love seeing this energy! Quick reframe: instead of "spring reset" try thinking of it as "spring addition." What are you ADDING to your life (vegetables, walks, sleep, water) rather than what you're taking away? Addition mindset sticks way better than restriction mindset in my experience as a coach.

April fresh start crew checking in. my goal is simple: eat breakfast. i've been skipping it for "intermittent fasting" but it was really just "not hungry until 2pm then inhaling everything in sight." back to real breakfast this month.
