Community Rules & Guidelines

1

Be Respectful

Treat all members with respect. No personal attacks, name-calling, harassment, or bullying. Disagree with ideas, not people. Everyone is here to learn and share, regardless of experience level.

2

No Spam or Self-Promotion

Do not post advertisements, affiliate links, or promotional content. Sharing helpful resources is fine, but repeated promotion of your own products, services, blog, or social media will be removed. This includes supplement companies and coaching services.

3

Back Claims with Sources

When making nutrition claims, especially controversial ones, provide credible sources. Peer-reviewed research, registered dietitian recommendations, and official health organization guidelines are preferred. Anecdotal evidence should be clearly labeled as such.

4

No Medical Advice

NutritionThreads is a peer discussion forum, not a medical service. Do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or provide personalized medical nutrition therapy. Always recommend that members consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical concerns.

5

Use Appropriate Categories

Post in the correct category for your topic. If unsure, use General Nutrition. Moderators may move threads to more appropriate categories. This helps members find relevant discussions efficiently.

6

Search Before Posting

Before creating a new thread, use the search function to check if your question has already been answered. Duplicate threads clutter the forum and fragment discussions. If an existing thread is relevant, post your question there instead.

7

No Politics

Keep discussions focused on nutrition. Political discussions, partisan commentary, and politically motivated arguments are off-topic and will be removed. Nutrition policy discussions are allowed if they remain factual and non-partisan.

8

Moderator Decisions Are Final

Our moderators volunteer their time to keep this community productive and safe. If a moderator removes content or issues a warning, respect the decision. You may appeal privately via the Contact page, but public arguments about moderation will be removed.

Enforcement

Violations may result in: verbal warning, temporary mute (1-7 days), temporary ban (1-30 days), or permanent ban depending on severity and history. Repeat offenders face escalating consequences.
