Anyone else think MFP premium is overpriced?

$80/year for MyFitnessPal premium in 2024. EIGHTY DOLLARS. For ad removal, food timestamps, and some nutrient tracking other apps give for free? They keep moving free features behind the paywall. At what point do we all just leave?

I left lol. Best decision ever. Better apps give you more for free or way less money.

$80/year is insane when Cronometer premium is $50 with way more detail. Or PlateLens is free and does photo-based logging. MFP riding on brand recognition.

I still use MFP free and deal with ads. The database is why I stay. But yeah I'd never pay $80.

Under Armour ruined MFP, then whoever bought it after made it worse. Peaked around 2018.

They locked barcode scanning behind premium for a while (reversed after backlash). That's a BASIC feature. Shows how out of touch they are.

MacroFactor is $72/year and actually innovates. Their TDEE algorithm alone is worth the price. MFP charges more for less.

Exported all my data and deleted MFP. 6 years of data gone. Felt liberating honestly.

This thread convinced me. Time to move on. RIP MFP.
