Meal Prep Sunday - share your plans!
It's Sunday! What's everyone prepping this week? I'm doing:
- 5 lbs chicken breast (air fryer, various seasonings)
- Big pot of brown rice
- Roasted broccoli and sweet potatoes
- Mason jar salads for lunches
Total cost: about $45 for the week. Show me yours!
Love it! Mine this week:
- Turkey meatballs (made 40 of them)
- Quinoa
- Roasted vegetables (zucchini, bell peppers, onions)
- Overnight oats x5 for breakfast
About $50 total. The meatballs freeze great if I have extras.
Chicken and rice. Every week. I know I'm boring but it works and it's cheap. Different sauces/seasonings keep it from getting too repetitive.
Prepping for the whole family (2 adults, 2 kids):
- Slow cooker pulled pork
- Pasta sauce from scratch (big batch)
- Cut veggies and hummus for snacks
- Energy balls for the kids' lunchboxes
Plant-based prep:
- Chickpea curry (huge pot)
- Tofu scramble mix (just reheat in the morning)
- Lentil soup
- Roasted chickpeas for snacking
All for about $30. Beans are the ultimate budget food.
You guys are so organized lol. My "meal prep" is buying a rotisserie chicken and some pre-washed salad. Does that count?
@lazyCook That absolutely counts! A rotisserie chicken is great protein and the salad covers veggies. Not everything needs to be Instagram-worthy meal prep.
Bulking prep is a whole different beast. I'm making 6 lbs of ground beef, 10 cups of rice, and a gallon of chili. Eating 3500 cals a day is genuinely harder than cutting sometimes.
Greek yogurt parfaits! Layer yogurt, berries, and granola in jars. Grab and go breakfast with 30g protein per jar. Game changer for busy mornings.
Mediterranean meal prep: falafel patties, tabbouleh, tzatziki, hummus, grilled chicken. Everything keeps well for 4-5 days. Delicious and macro-friendly.
