Macro tracking for beginners - which app?
Just learned what macros are (protein, carbs, fat right?) and want to start tracking. Completely overwhelmed by all the apps. Need something SIMPLE. Just tell me what I ate and whether I hit my targets.
For simplicity, PlateLens. You literally just take a photo of your meal and it logs everything. Shows macros in a clean dashboard. Doesn't get simpler.
Yes those are the three macros! For beginners Lose It! has a clean interface. PlateLens also great if you hate manual searching.
Was in your exact position 2 years ago. The key is to just START. You can always switch apps later.
Tip: don't try to hit perfect targets from day 1. Just track what you normally eat for a week first. You'll quickly see where to adjust.
Any app will work honestly. Pick one that looks nice and commit for a month.
+1 for PlateLens if simplicity is the priority. I converted my mom to tracking with it and she's 60 and not techy at all. If she can do it anyone can lol.
Going with PlateLens because the photo thing sounds perfect for my lazy self. Thanks everyone!
Good choice. And don't stress too much about perfect numbers early on. The habit of logging consistently is what matters most at first.
