Best low carb snacks? I'm always hungry between meals
I need snack ideas that won't kick me out of ketosis. I'm fine at meals but by 3pm I'm starving. What are your go-to keto-friendly snacks?
My keto snack rotation:
- Cheese cubes or string cheese (0-1g carbs)
- Almonds or macadamia nuts (careful with portions)
- Hard boiled eggs
- Pork rinds with guacamole
- Celery with cream cheese or almond butter
- Beef jerky (check labels, some have sugar)
- Olives
Fat bombs! Chocolate + coconut oil + peanut butter, frozen into little squares. Crushes sweet cravings and keeps you full.
If you're always hungry on keto, you might not be eating enough fat at meals. Fat is what makes keto satiating. Add more avocado, olive oil, and butter to your meals and you might not need snacks.
Pepperoni slices straight from the package. Zero effort, zero carbs, very satisfying. My desk drawer always has a pack.
Quest chips! The ranch flavor is incredible and only 4g net carbs per bag. Not the cheapest option but it satisfies the chip craving.
@dairyFreeDebbie good point, I think my meals might be too lean. I'll add more fat and see if the afternoon hunger goes away. And buying all these snacks lol.
Dark chocolate (85%+). 2-3 squares have only 3-4g net carbs and it feels like a real treat. Satisfies the sweet tooth without derailing anything.
Smoked salmon or sardines if you like fish. High fat, zero carbs, tons of omega-3. Not everyone's thing but nutritionally it's hard to beat.
